When preparing your quilt for stitching:
Iron both quilt top and backing DO NOT pin or baste batting and backing to quilt top Backing and batting must be 6" larger than quilt top, both length and width Identify the "Top" of your quilt
The long arm quilting machine is used to stitch the three layers (top, back and batting) for a quilt together. Each year more women discover the physical demands of using their home machines to stitch the layers comprising a quilt.
The use of a long arm quilting maching makes sewing the layers together much easier, thanks to the roller system that holds all three layers together. I am able to stitch perfect designs using my computerized Gammill/Statler. Gammill is the name of the long arm, Statler is the name of the computer system. The two together are named "ELVIS"!
